Individual awards: Special awards to the overall male and female winners. Awards to the top three finishers in each Masters age group.

LMSC awards: The winner of the Florida LMSC vs. Florida Gold Coast LMSC Challenge will take possession of the traveling trophy, to be kept until the 2010 LMSC Challenge.

Course Maps

The 5K course is two laps around a 2.5K rectangle marked by large orange marine buoys at each end. Swimmers will swim clockwise with each turn buoy to their right shoulder. Swimmers may pass the yellow intermediate buoys on either shoulder.

. The Mile course is one lap clockwise around a 1.5K rectangle. At the start, swimmers will go around large orange marine buoys and will turn with yellow marine buoys to their right shoulders.

Florida LMSC vs. Florida Gold Coast LMSC

Masters Mile Challenge

Course: an 1500m loop parallel to the shore of Estero Island (Fort Myers Beach). Men start at 11 am in one wave and women start two minutes later.

Entrants: There is no limit to the number of swimmers who may enter. The Masters Mile is open to all USMS-registered swimmers, but only those who are registered with either the Florida LMSC or the Florida Gold Coast LMSC will count for LMSC points. Club affiliation does not matter.

Social: A social with food and libation will be held at the conclusion of the race.

LMSC Awards: In addition to bragging rights, he winning LMSC will will take possession the traveling trophy that it will keep until the 2010 Masters Challenge.

Scoring and points: Scoring will be 7-5-3-2-1 for the first five places in each Masters age group.
