- WHAT: 1-mile run -- 1/4-mile swim -- 1-mile run
- WHEN: Friday, May 30, 2008
- WHERE: Lynn Hall Park, Fort Myers Beach
- TIME: Aquathon begins at 7 PM; check-in begins at 6 PM
- COURSE: The Aquathon starts and ends at Lynn Hall Park on Fort Myers Beach. The run is on the sand beach parallel to the Gulf of Mexico (1/2-mile north from the park, turn, and 1/2-mile back to the start area), the swim is on a marked course in the Gulf of Mexico, and the final run is the same course as the initial run. Runners will cross a finish line marked by cones.
- ENTRY: Entry can be done online at active.com or at the pavilion in Lynn Hall Park on race day. Online entry closes at midnight (PST) on May 25. The online entry fee is $20 plus the active.com registration fee; the race day entry fee is $25.
- AWARDS: Special awards to the top male and female overall winners; custom ribbons to 2nd-10th places male and female overall.
- WHAT: One-mile open water swim
- WHEN: Saturday, May 31, 2008
- WHERE: Lynn Hall Park, Fort Myers Beach
- TIME: The Dash-for-Cash begins at 7 PM; check-in is at Lynn Hall Park and begins at 6 PM. The start will be in two waves with the Pro Division beginning first and the Amateur Division beginning second.
- COURSE: The Dash-for-Cash starts one mile north of Lynn Hall Park and is a straight swim parallel to the beach. The start and finish are on land. The Pro Division will start at 7 PM and the Amateur Division will start at 7:05 PM.
- ENTRY: Entry can be done online at active.com or at the pavilion in Lynn Hall Park on race day. Online entry closes at midnight (PST) on May 25. The entry fee in the Pro division is $50; the entry fee in the Amateur division is $20.
- DIVISIONS & AWARDS:
- PRO DIVISION: Prizes in both male and female divisions.Tentative prizes of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third places. The purse is based on a minimum of 10 entries in the male division and 10 entries in the female division. The race director reserves the right to adjust the purse or race if the number of pro entries is less.
- AMATEUR DIVISION: Custom ribbons will be awarded in the following age groups.
